Steelhead Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss
Federal Endangered and State Species of Special Concern. Possible transitory use of Goleta Slough and tributary creeks. Rarely documented despite repeated sampling efforts, suggesting the estuary does not currently support a viable run. Records exist for Atascadero and San Pedro Creeks. No spawning or rearing habitat occurs within the Slough Ecosystem. Culverts impose barriers to upstream migration.

Federal Endangered and State Species of Special Concern. Restricted to sand-bottomed brackish coastal lagoons. There are anecdotal records of this species in Goleta Slough, but recent collecting efforts have not confirmed its presence.
